Why are we so afraid of sensuality? Why do we seek it, yet at the same time, shy away from it?
Perhaps because, somewhere along the path of our lives, we lose touch with its deeper meaning. We no longer truly understand what it is. We are drawn to it, yet we struggle to give it form, to make sense of it.
Sensuality is the art of the unspoken.
It is the grace hidden in gestures left unexplained, in the language of the body and soul that slips beyond the linear logic of explanation and mental control.
It is a way of honoring our humanity: guardians of movement, presence, emotion, and thought -without needing to define everything, without the urgency to explain every detail.
Sensuality is the surrender to a moment, without trying to frame it.
It is the breath between words, the pause that speaks louder than a thousand phrases.
It is a gesture that needs no interpretation, a path leading to unexpected destinations.
Poetry is sensuality.
Poetry is sensuality in its purest linguistic form.
It lives in suggestion, in metaphor. It is a threshold, an invitation.
It does not offer answers: it opens possibilities. It points toward directions that don’t claim to be the only way, but instead spark thoughts, reflections, and questions.
It offers a lens through which to explore shadowy corners, a new way of inhabiting the world and our own circumstances, whatever they may be.
To surrender to the sensuality of a thought is to welcome the vastness of possibility.
And in this, creativity is sensuality’s sister: the ability to respond to life by widening our gaze, seeking new paths, seeing the potential within a situation rather than its limitations.

Stefania Lucchetti is a CONTEMPORARY ITALIAN POET. She is bilingual (Italian-English) and writes in both languages, curating her own translations.
Her bibliographical profile is listed in the prestigious Italian Poetry Org. Stefania Lucchetti’s books have been tagged as “the message of the times” and regularly defined as “life changing” by readers. Born in 1975 in Verona, Italy, she saw her first poetry published at 13 while living in the US with her family, marking the beginning of a long journey as wordsmith. In adulthood, Stefania pursued a remarkable career in international law, traversing through Milan, London and Hong Kong as a respected international commercial lawyer. While during her professional years she authored business books and essays, she is now back to her first love: poetry.
