my story
Parts of me
“I started writing poems at the age of 7, collecting them in a blue notebook that accompanied me throughout my family’s moves due to my father’s military career. When I was 11, we moved to the United States, where I quickly learned the language thanks to an exceptional English and drama teacher for whom I still feel infinite gratitude. One of my poems was published in a local magazine, and this encouraged me to pursue writing.”
“My writing went through pauses and restarts, often dictated by the ups and downs of life and the commitments of my profession as a lawyer and my family duties as mother of three children. I wrote several nonfiction books both in English and in Italian and then for a few years I stopped writing. Ultimately, life’s twists and turns brought me back to poetry.
I believe art has the power to wait for us and reawaken when we are ready…”

"I have always believed that ideas have a life of their own, existing in an ethereal realm and knocking at the artist's door....
You have to open the door for that to happen.
My door opened again, wide open.
Aphrodite, alchemical goddess of love and creativity, took over.
I resumed a love affair with art."
